Bob and Carol Gettemy hosted the meeting at their home

Keith Baggus opened the meeting at 3:00 PM….He updated us on members; 1.Bill Malick said that Claudette was diagnosed with the beginning of Parkinson’s. 2. Al Hartman said Shirley hurt her back. Cards were signed and sent to both ladies. Keith said Fred from the Castle Shannon Show at the end of October was contacted. The group decided to do a small display much like the one we did for Wilkenburg. John Weimer will contact Ken Maglietta to see if we may use his track again. We will raffle a train (HO or Lionel) again at the Castle Shannon show. A G-gauge set has a low a profit margin if any)

Dave Bodnar showed us the “Mr. Baldwin Trolley” made in honor of our late member Bill Baldwin. It has two conductors that rotate in the direction that the trolley is moving (another of Dave’s inventions). Dave explained and showed us how it worked and will post in the newsletter. Dave also had many people from another deceased member, Larry Marcinko, whose wife, Janet donated them to the club for our layout.

Dan Cinowalt gave us the name and number of a man that sells track clamps ($1.25) Dave Hawk @ 330-896-9340. He also told us about a great trip to” Pioneer Tunnel Coal Mine” & Steam Locomotive (narrow gauge) south of Centralia, Pa on route 61 heading towards Ashland. He recommends this trip for an adventure back in time.

Tina Weimer will check into information for the club to take a trip to the Connellsville’s Canteen &Train Station. She mentioned many interesting things to see including WWII nurses uniforms.  Open from only 10 – 2.

The “Age of Steam Roundhouse” is open on Th. Fri. & Sat. until Oct. 27, 2018. It is just west of Dover, Ohio in Sugarcreek. It has 18 stalls with 20 historic steam locomotives and a 115 foot operating turntable. A locomotive repair shop is on the grounds. The roundhouse is red brick with huge timber framing. Tours are $20 per person (no one under 5) with a tour minimum of 30 people. Would be nice to get a group together for a trip to Ohio….????

The Trolley Museum in Washington Co. near the Fair Grounds is open 10 -4 (last tour @3).You see 50 cars in a 90 min. tour. You get to ride on a vintage trolley view cars and go through the restoration shop. Cost is Adults $10, Sr. $9, kids 3-15 $7, 2 & under free. This could be another trip for our group….?????

Clark Kemmerer won the 50/50.
