San Fran Pork Chops
4 pork chops (about 1 1/2 lb; can be boneless)
1 Tbsp oil
1 minced garlic glove
Sauce:
2 tsp. oil
4 Tbsp. dry sherry or broth
4 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/2 tsp. crushed red pepper
2 tsp. cornstarch
2 Tbsp. water
Heat large skillet with oil and brown chops on both sides.
Remove; add a little more oil if needed and saute garlic.
Combine in small bowl oil, sherry/broth, soy sauce, brown sugar,
and red pepper. Put chops back in skillet and pour sauce over;
cover pan. Simmer until done about 30 minutes. Add a little
water if needed. Turn chops once. Remove chops to platter; stir
cornstarch and cook until thickened. Pour over meat. Serve with
noodles
